To help our customers make informed decisions concerning installation, we have listed a few tips that shold come in handy. To Find an Installer- Check the local yellow pages under the listings carpet, hardwood, or hardsurface installers.
- Use the CFI or Certified Floor Covering Installers website to locate an independent certified installer in your area.
- Get a referral from a builder, family member, or friend who has had flooring installed recently.

Remember, installation is the most important part of your floor covering purchase. Research your installer carefully, and always ask for references. The best installers should be fully insured, and are a little more expensive than others. General Tips- While carpet does not need to be acclimated prior to installation, it will strech, and install with a little less effort at higher temperatures.
- Hardwood, wood floating floors, and laminate must acclimate where they will be installed for 10 days prior to intallation with the heat and air set to the usual setting.
- Always order a little extra material so you do not come up short. When buying carpet allow a few running feet extra. When buying hardwood, laminate or floating hardwood floor allow 5% extra, and about 10% when buying a cabin or tavern grade hardwood.
- When installing any floor covering, follow the manufacturers instructions carefully.
